I suppose its high time that I dust this thing off and get to work again. This account has been sitting empty with that 'Test' post for to long. That post is gone though now, so we have progress!

I need to dust off my other babies too, my lovely typewriters even though a couple of them need more than a good dusting and a ribbon. Only two need a ribbon though. My two newest babies though, my lovely gems, may need a bit more.

Last weekend, I was given a surprise by my Mom when she got home from visiting her sister. A Smith-Corona Galaxie II. Its newer than ones I prefer, but its a lovely piece. I have no idea what the Jeweled Escapement is for even though its sparkly and pretty... This one just needs a cleaning, since its probably twice its weight in eraser crumbles.

My big ol' gal on the other hand...my Underwood Noiseless typewriter from 1937. My joy, my darling, my precious. And strangely the only typewriter I've actually paid for; other three were gifts, oh what enablers my family is. This thing is older than my grandmother. I'm scared to go into the underside of this lovely, but rather heavy, piece of craftsmanship. And I am afraid she is in need of some, hopefully, minor repairs. The spacebar is possessed and will randomly put spaces in and while the keys don't actually stick, they seem to have a sluggish response no matter what adjustments I make. That may be due to the unknown substance on the key lever things that I can't get off no matter what.

Oh what to do what to do? Lug the old girl to the closest repair shop, about an hour away, or try to figure it out myself? Shes a wonderful thing and I want to take care of her.
